Guest lecture by Yvonne Tertilte-Rübo, equal opportunity commissioner for the city of Kleve
Tuesday, November 29th, 18:00, KLE 01 02 005
In her guest lecture, Yvonne Tertilte-Rübo presents the municipal violence protection concept of the city of Kleve – a milestone in the fight against violence against women, LGBTQI* and other vulnerable groups in the Lower Rhine region. After the Kleve City Council passed a resolution to this effect in December 2021, Yvonne Tertilte Rübo was commissioned to develop a municipal violence protection concept. The concept will be integrated into the new urban development concept and will define goals and criteria, guidelines for action and measures. In addition, it serves to raise awareness and sensitize people to the existing risk of violence in public spaces.
Visitors to the presentation will have the opportunity to contribute their suggestions regarding the violence protection concept.
Yvonne Tertilte-Rübo holds a degree in social pedagogy and has been shaping the equality policy of the city of Kleve as a municipal equality officer since 1996. Since 2014, she has been active as a lecturer at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in the degree program “Gender and Diversity B.A.”. Yvonne Tertilte-Rübo is responsible for the development of the municipal violence protection concept of the city of Kleve.
This guest lecture is organized by Prof. Dr. Eva Maria Hinterhuber, professor for sociology with a focus on gender studies and vice chairwoman to the German Association for Peace and Conflict Studies (AFK e.V.) as well as Elke Verlinden, General Secretary of the AFK and research assistant for peace and conflict studies at the HSRW.
