The German Association for Peace and Conflict Research (AFK) is a scientific association that brings together peace researchers from a wide range of disciplines in German-speaking countries. Its interdisciplinary nature is reflected in the various areas that deal with the concepts of peace and conflict and extend far beyond political science. In particular, the AFK promotes academic work, concepts and models that are intended to contribute to an understanding of the causes and consequences of war and peace. In this way, a broad multidisciplinary basis can be created for a political practice orientated towards peaceful coexistence.

The individual colloquia each focus on a highly relevant topic and thus indirectly address social dynamics.
