Since March 2025, the German Association for Peace and Conflict Research (AFK) has formally embedded its Diversity Mission Statement into its guiding principles. This marks an important step toward fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive research environment across all of AFK’s activities.

To better understand how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are currently experienced within the association, AFK is launching a short survey among its members and broader community. The aim is to identify potential structural barriers, highlight support needs, and explore opportunities to strengthen inclusive and transdisciplinary collaboration across all career stages. The survey also welcomes perspectives from potential future members who share AFK’s commitment to building an open and inclusive research community.

The results will be analyzed in aggregated form and will directly inform the development of AFK’s Diversity & Inclusion Strategy 2026–2029.

Participation is voluntary, anonymous, and takes only 5–7 minutes.
