The German Association for Peace and Conflict Studies (AFK) is actively involved in shaping the academic discourse in the field of peace and conflict research.
A central instrument of this work is its participation in several renowned publications that address different target groups – from academic experts to the public with an interest in peace policy.
Zeitschrift für Friedens- und Konfliktforschung (ZeFKo)
ZeFKo is the central academic journal for peace and conflict research in the German-speaking world. It is published twice a year by Springer Verlag and publishes theoretically sound, methodologically reflective and empirically based articles from all areas of inter- and transdisciplinary peace and conflict research.
The AFK is an institutional co-editor of ZeFKo and contributes to the thematic orientation and quality assurance of the journal through its editorial work.
Wissenschaft und Frieden (W&F)
Wissenschaft und Frieden (W&F) is an important interdisciplinary journal at the
interface between science, politics and the peace movement in the German-speaking world.
It is published quarterly and combines academic analyses with political reflection and practical peace perspectives.
The AFK is an institutional co-publisher of the W&F editorial board, which brings together various peace research and peace policy organisations.
In this way, the AFK contributes to introducing peace research findings into social and political discourse.
